Why Don’t I Feel Well?

Why Don’t I Feel Well?

We live in a culture and in a country which defies youth, beauty and wealth. When we seek to relax by watching a movie or our favorite TV show, we see men and women who are mostly perfect: physique, hair, teeth and every other feature they own. So where does that leave those of us who aren’t so young and who do not nor never did have perfect bodies? Sitting passively watching those gorgeous creatures while wishing that we still looked like that-if we ever did?

No way.

I’m here to proclaim that there is another side of this youth obsessed culture-an extremely positive side for those of us who have some years and wisdom on us. This is becoming the age of taking responsibility for our health and our wellness. While in Oregon on vacation last summer, I joined a gym for the two weeks we would be in Bandon and worked out regularly at different hours of the day. Not infrequently, I was the youngest person there – many of those working out at the same time I was were in their seventies and eighties. Their routines were a bit less strenuous than mine but by golly they were there with their clipboards and very conscientious about checking off each routine for each of the machines that the owner of the gym had set up for them.

How wonderful to be living in an age when growing older does not mean condemning ourselves to immobility or passively watching our lives slip away. So you can probably guess my solution to the complaint of not feeling well? Right, get up, get out and walk or jog or dance or run.

The data are overwhelming: muscle mass need not diminish as we approach the 6th, 7th and 8th decades of life. Studies have shown that weekly upper body weight workouts build muscle mass for men and women well into their eighties.

One of the most dangerous threats to health is immobility; sitting in that chair and not moving: it’s a major contributor to high blood pressure, clot formation, weight gain, diabetes and a myriad of the chronic diseases that afflict us in later life. Physiologically, there is no better treatment for depression than exercise. The endorphins released during a medium level workout are far more effective than any anti-depressant in creating feelings of well-being and peace.

So if you are not feeling well, kind of down and blue, do not turn on the television to gaze at those beautiful people wistfully. But do get up and take your dogs for a hike or join a local gym and ask the owner or one of the people who work there to assist you in putting together an exercise regime that will not overly tax you but that you can begin now and continue into your old age. You will never look back, I guarantee it.…

Stomach Flattening Exercises – 3 Free Secret Proven Techniques

Stomach Flattening Exercises – 3 Free Secret Proven Techniques

What will you do differently when you get the flat belly that you want using these proven techniques? As you read this article you will realise that with this killer new stomach flattening exercise program you will finally be able to lose your belly fat and feel years younger.

It is not your fault that you do not have the secret key to increasing your metabolic rate, boosting growth hormones and melting away your extra belly fat, keep reading for your “key”.

Can you remember a time when you saw somebody with that perfect body, you know lean, toned, killer abs just the body you want? Do you feel hopeless because you think you have too much weight to lose?

Please do not give up I know how you feel I felt the same way but what I found will change your life forever. It is a training program for the rest of us, not the body builders. Training like a body builder will not help you because they are very advanced in building muscles.

Here are some of the stomach flattening exercises plus other great info I have learned through this program.

1: You might have heard or maybe you have even asked “What is the best move to target my lower abs”. This is called muscle isolation and if you are looking for stomach flattening exercises then you do not want to isolate your muscles.

The best exercises to burn fat are moves that work out large groups of muscles all at once like squats, dead lifts and push-up rows. These kinds of moves will boost your metabolic rate and produce more growth hormones like testosterone.

2: Sleep is very, very, very important because when you workout you tear your muscles and then when you sleep they repair them build. If you do not get enough sleep they will not rebuild fully and the next time you workout you will tear muscles that are already ripped. This will cause you to lose muscle and if you are looking to burn fat then you need muscle.

3: Diet is very important because you need to eat healthy nutritious foods to fuel your body through your workout. You also need to know what, when and how to eat to lose weight.…

Paleo Diet Plan: Are Grains Bad You On A Paleo/Primal/Caveman Diet?

Paleo Diet Plan: Are Grains Bad You On A Paleo/Primal/Caveman Diet?

According to the paleo diet plan, the health benefits of eating whole grains are vastly exaggerated and may even be bad for a lot of people. Read on to discover why this might be so…

To begin with, it’s only since the advent of agriculture about ten thousand years ago that humans have adopted eating grains in any great amount. It’s unlikely in that time the human digestive system has had time to fully adapt to grains as an optimum source of nutrition.

The issue with grains…

Grains are the seeds of grasses and are how the plants reproduce, so it stands to reason they would want to avoid having their seeds eaten by predators.

As plants are immobile and can’t escape from any creatures that would like to eat them, they have evolved certain compounds that attack animals’ digestive tracts to discourage them from doing so. Lectins and enzyme inhibitors being two such compounds and are often referred to as anti-nutrients.

The irony is whole grains, which we have been told are healthier for us, actually contain more of these anti-nutrients than refined grains. They can wreak havoc on the human digestive system and lead to problems like leaky gut.

Leaky gut is a condition of bowel or intestinal permeability which allows large protein compounds to enter our system before they are broken down into smaller peptides.

This in turn can lead to autoimmune problems as the body creates antibodies against these proteins. Unfortunately they can also resemble proteins found naturally in the body which our immune system will then also attack.

It gets worse…

Some grains (wheat, barley and rye) contain proteins called gluten.

People who have celiac disease suffer from a severe autoimmune response to gluten which can reduce life expectancy if left untreated.

In North America alone, approximately 1% of the population are diagnosed with celiac disease but this figure could be 30% higher due to under diagnosis. This is a figure that’s steadily been increasing since the 1950’s.

The prevalence of gluten intolerance or sensitivity may be even higher with up to 40% of the population exhibiting symptoms. This may be in the form of gut irritation, heartburn, skin rashes and even joint pain amongst others.

Nutrient poor…

Disregarding the disadvantageous effects of anti-nutrients, grains also tend to have a comparatively lower level of nutrients when compared side-by-side with vegetables and animal products.

Grains also contain compounds called phytates that bind to minerals which prevents their absorption during digestion. So even if calcium or iron are present, they are indigestible.

Why then if grains contain anti-nutrients, with low nutrient density are people so reluctant to give them up? The answer is they are actually addictive.

It’s been shown that compounds in wheat actually bind to the same receptors in our brain as those that respond to opiates (heroin or opium).

Is it all bad news for grains?…

With proper preparation methods (cooking, soaking and fermenting), many of the lectins and phytates in grain can be broken down. The issue is, unless you are doing this yourself, it’s highly unlikely the grains you are eating have been properly prepared.

Besides, even with proper preparation gluten is still an issue and can be so detrimental to human well-being it’s probably best just to avoid it altogether.

Grains that don’t contain gluten such as corn and white rice may be fine to eat in moderation without causing too many ill effects in most people. However, like most grains they can still spike blood sugar so should probably be avoided if you are insulin resistant or diabetic.…

500 Calorie Diet – How To Embark On The 500 Calorie Diet

500 Calorie Diet – How To Embark On The 500 Calorie Diet

Here’s how to do the 500 calorie diet. Our body has different calorie requirements. The calories determine how much energy our body can transform so that we can do the physical activities we need to do. Most men need an average of about 2500 calories per day while most women need an average of about 2000 calories per day. However, if you are trying to lose weight, it is advisable to cut back on these regular portions. This is why the 500 calorie diet is such a great hit to men and women who want to shed off some pounds. It is basically done by restricting yourself to 500 calories per meal, which is strictly 1500 calories consumption, and 500 calories less than an average intake per day. Here’s how you can do that:

1. You can turn to meat, poultry and seafood and include any one of them into your diet. You don’t necessarily have to give up meat if this is what you love eating. In fact, you can eat about 8 ounce of sirloin steak paired with 2 cups of fresh steamed broccoli. You can also try poached 10 ounces salmon fillet with 6 ounces of steamed sweet potato. You get all the nutrients minus the saturated fat.

2. You can also go vegetarian. Most Asian and Indian meals help you go vegan as they have a lot of recipes in favour of this new 500 calorie diet that you would like to try. A sample Asian dish would be the Shanghai Stir-Fry Tofu with its spicy flavour and vegetarian oyster sauce. You can also try the Chana Masala, an Indian recipe made from chickpeas.

3. Fast food is not entirely prohibited provided that you are limiting your portions. You can eat half of your grilled chicken sandwich and half a glass of iced tea and you’re all set. You can also try whole-wheat bagels avoiding the cream cheese or if you do want it you must reduce the portion of your bagels and pear it with tea.

The 500 calorie diet per meal program is a great way to help you lose weight and enforce discipline in your body.…

Airsoft Guns – Getting to Know Them More

Airsoft Guns – Getting to Know Them More

A lot of people like to use airsoft guns for hunting or just for fun. However, there are a lot of different products available in this line and knowing which is best for your intended purposes is often a difficult task. You’re going to need advice about gun and pellet types, which is what you should be able to gain from the following paragraphs of this article.

First ask yourself what you’re going to be doing most with the gun. If you’re just going to try to hit at man-made targets and need the best accuracy, you should go for a target gun. However, if you actually want to go hunting with this firearm, you should be looking into specialized hunting guns, which have only slightly less good accuracy, but which shoot pellets with three to five times the energy of their counterparts.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of time re-cocking your gun, you should take a look at the pre-charged options, which make everything go much faster. Whether you go for this advantage or not, however, it’s important that you have pellets at the best caliber for your gun. Sometimes this means mixing different ones to get the best shooting experience.

If you’re trying to determine which pellets will move the fastest, you need to take a look at their size. Large pellets move more slowly both because they’re heavier and because they cause more wind resistance. By looking at the type of pellet you’re buying, you should be able to get an idea of how fast it is and what things it should be used for.

If you’re looking to get target airsoft guns, you’re going to need to know how to determine the accuracy. First, you should look at the pellet itself, specifically the crown or barrel lip, which should have a surface that keeps the pellet from wobbling. If it did wobble, it could shoot off in another direction besides the point you were aiming at.

You also want to make sure nothing’s off-balance at all when it comes to the pellet’s spinning in the area of uniformity. It doesn’t take much to throw off lightweight pellets. You’ll learn this more than ever if you have to shoot in the wind. Chance’s are they’ll be pushed slightly off track no matter how good your aim is in, especially high winds.

Again, you need to think about what you’re using the gun for. If you want to do both target practice and hunting, you might need two different types of guns. Even if you’re just getting one type, you should try out different models or at least get recommendations before you buy. Some types of hunting guns are better for hunting different animals.

It’s great to be able to take airsoft guns for test runs, but how do you determine how they’re going to shoot, especially if you’re using them for hunting? A handy trick is to shoot at a bar of soap and gather judgments first about different guns and then on the best pellets. The right gun and ammunition together will give you the best overall deal.…

Change Your Fattitude

Change Your Fattitude

You may be wondering what your fattiitude is. Your fattitude is the way that you think about dieting and food. A poor fattitude will lead to a lifetime of struggling to lose weight and keep it off. Those with a bad fattitude will never get off the diet roller coaster; they will jump from diet to diet and purchase every new diet pill that comes along believing that it is “the one” that will solve all of their weight problems. This may even be you.

Diet pills can help to an extent, but people never read the fine print that says with diet and exercise, and as soon as they quit taking the product, the weight starts coming back. It is a vicious cycle that never ends. I love the commercials that advertise the next great diet product. They always show someone who was overweight, and after taking the product they have the perfect body. I can tell you that this is absolutely not true. You will never get a perfectly toned body just by taking a diet pill or going on some crazy new diet. Those who have a good fattitude understand this concept.

Diet and exercise go together hand in hand. This does not mean that you have to starve to death, or be an exercise guru. You simply need to understand how to exercise, and what foods are healthy for you to eat. There are multitudes of delicious healthy recipes that include desserts and you make them yourself. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars a week buying ready-made meals. There are also exercise routines that will tone every part of your body, and you don’t need a gym membership! All you need is to change your fattitude.

We live in a microwave society and want everything right now, but you have to remember that the weight didn’t just appear over night, It took years of neglect to get to the point you are at right now, and it will take time to get to the point that you want to be. The good news is that you can do it without diet aids, and it doesn’t have to take years to get there. All it takes is you, a change in your fattitude, and taking the fist step towards a healthier lifestyle.

It is all within your reach, and you can do it. All you need is a little bit of help to get going in the right direction.…

The Acne Detox Diet – A True Acne Cure Or Just Another Myth?

The Acne Detox Diet – A True Acne Cure Or Just Another Myth?

The acne detox diet idea has been around for a while now, and has created more than it’s share of controversy. Is an acne detox diet a true acne cure, or just another “theory” that is yet to be proven? I thought a bit of research was in order, and you’ll never guess what I found…

The acne detox diet idea resulted from recent clinical studies that reviewed the findings of two other landmark studies conducted in 1969 and 1971. These studies concluded that acne was caused by a genetic defect that causes your body to produce an excessive amount of sebum oil, a natural substance that your body uses to keep your skin soft and pliable.

Excess sebum oil tends to pool in hair follicles and skin pores, plugging the pores and providing a perfect breeding ground for the P-acne bacteria (Propionibacterium Acnes), which is present on everyone’s skin. In normal numbers, the P-acne bacteria is actually beneficial, controlling other, more dangerous, bacteria that come our way.

Unfortunately, excess sebum oil allows the bacteria to multiply to abnormal numbers, resulting in skin irritation. Your body’s natural defenses then send white blood cells to the area to control the bacteria. The resulting conflict causes more irritation and the formation of white heads, blackheads (once exposed to the air), pimples, and, .

does that have to do with an acne detox diet?

Quite a bit, actually. The more recent studies have found that the conclusions reached in the 1968 and 1971 studies were not only wrong, but that the studies, themselves, were seriously flawed. Apparently, once they found the DNA-sebum oil connection, they stopped looking for other causes.

Researchers in the later studies didn’t stop, and eventually found that there is a definite link between diet and acne. What they didn’t expect was to find that the link wasn’t so much what you were eating, but much more about how what you’re eating is processed.

A large percentage of the foods we eat, both at home and in restaurants, contain chemicals that act as preservatives. This keeps the food safe and fresh for a longer period of time, which, in itself, is not a bad thing.

What is a bad thing (and the reason for using an acne detox diet) is that these recent studies also found that, over a period of time, these chemicals tend to build up inside your body until they reach a toxic level, causing your body’s natural defenses to attempt to eliminate the poisons.

They also found that, in people prone to acne, the body rids itself of these chemicals by emulsifying them in sebum oil (remember that from earlier?) and secreting it out through your skin. This creates the exact same conditions as those created by faulty DNA, and results in acne outbreaks.

So, you can see how an acne detox diet that rids your body of these chemicals before they reach a toxic level, can be not just an acne cure, but the acne cure.…
