Acne Products – Yay Or Nay?
Alright everyone has seen the commercials for Proactiv and Skin ID where they get the really good looking actresses with perfect skin. Now you need to be reasonable, while you may get clear skin, acne medicine will not make you look like Jessica Simpson. Many people also feel that they can just use the product in the morning and night and that will cure it. For some people this may be the case, but many people don’t realize how much their acne is affected by what they eat and how active they are. Someone who eats only vegetables and grilled chicken is much less likely to have acne than someone who eats at Wendy’s and Burger King three times a week. You will also need to use it regularly because it is the same as any other medicine. IT WILL WEAR OFF WITH TIME! you need to realize this and read the back of the product to know how often to use it. Some products will be OK for a few hours but then you go to lunch in school and have a greasy hamburger, some of the grease will be around your mouth for hours until you get home and wash your face again.
This can be the deciding point as to whether you will rid yourself of acne or not. I highly recommend Proactiv and I have not used Skin ID but I have only heard good things about it. There are also many generic brands you can pick up at Target or Walmart for a fraction of the price that are usually just as effective. My personal savior is that I always keep in my backpack and in my car Noxzema Triple Clean Anti-blemish Pads. They are easy to use and can fit in a purse, backpack, or any other thing you would be carrying it in. They are only around five dollars at most and last around three to four weeks. Having pads like these make it so you can eat unhealthy foods sometimes and still be able to keep a clean face.
Exercise can also be a huge factor in your Acne Loss mission. If you sit at home all day playing video games you are more likely to have acne and be over weight than if you were to play sports, go on runs, ride your bicycle, and my personal favorite weight lift. You may be thinking, wouldn’t sweating make you have worse acne? the answer is NO! Vigorous physical activity increases the blood flow to the skin. As a result, the oxygen that reaches the skin cells also increases and makes the cells healthier. Besides, exercising makes you sweat, which cleans the pores by washing the dirt away. This improves the health of the skin and reduces acne problem to a large extent. It also will help improve your cardiovascular system helping your organs work better and thus getting rid of the harmful toxins in your body faster. My top exercising tip is to start swimming, this will work every muscle in your body, and the chlorine in the water will help get rid of your acne by drying it out.
