Simple Tips on How to Lose Fat Fast

During every commercial break on TV, in every other page of a magazine, and on almost every website you visit, you’re constantly bombarded by ads for diet pills, fad diets, cleanses, and other ways to lose body fat. First piece of advice- stay away from these! Seriously, most of them are overpriced, don’t work, and can be hazardous to your health. And even the ones that do work either only work as long as you’re taking them, or they have very limited results; then, you’re right back where you started, and out a couple hundred dollars. Not worth it.

The good news is, this doesn’t mean you can’t lose body fat. And once you know the basics, it’s really easy. Here are some tips that have helped me, and thousands of others, lose body fat and feel great:

1.Stay Away from Fad/Dangerous Diets- Have you heard that if you drink water with lemon, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup for a week you’ll lose 35 pounds? Yeah, don’t try that. Stay away from anything that starves your body. If you starve yourself, you will lose weight; but when you eat again, which is inevitable, your body will be in “starvation mode”. That means your body doesn’t know when the next time it will get food will be, so it’ll hold on to everything you eat, and turn it into fat. Or, if you don’t eat ever again, you’ll die. This is called “anorexia nervosa”, which is something we generally like to stay away from.

Even if you find a diet that doesn’t involve starving yourself, make sure you can picture yourself eating that way for the rest of your life. If the diet tells you to eat nothing but pine nuts, brown rice, and applesauce for the rest of your life, you might want to give that one a second thought. (I don’t think that’s a real diet, I just made it up. Please don’t try that.). Just plan to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and plenty of whole grains. That’s all you need!

2. Drink Plenty of Cold Water- Numerous studies have shown that adults who drink the right amount of cold water every day burn more calories and have lower body fat percentages than those who don’t. This also helps your body flush out toxins, and helps to raise your metabolism.

But how much water should you drink? You’re probably used to hearing 8, 8 ounce glasses a day. Don’t take this too literally; different sources say women should drink different amounts than men, and that how much you should drink depends on your current weight and amount of time you exercise. There are plenty of online calculators to help you determine the right amount for you.

3. Exercise is a Key Component of Fat Loss- Yes, we all know exercise is good for you. Not just cardio though. Building muscle is one of the best ways, if not the best way to lose fat! See, muscles take calories to survive. And they use fat for energy to heal and build themselves, as well as raise your base metabolism- the amount of calories you burn when just sitting down. Of course, the best way to torch calories and melt the fat right off your body is to combine a muscle building workout with cardio, alternating every other day with one day of rest.

Trust me- combining the alternating muscle and cardio workouts, with plenty of cold water, and a healthy diet of fresh produce, lean meats, and whole grains, will give you amazing results that you never even thought possible. And it’s so easy, you’ll have to put almost no effort into it once you get into the swing of things.…
